Exclusive Commemorative Medal
On the 6th of April 1767 Margrave Charles Frederick, Grand Duke of Baden in an edict permitted French native Jean Francois Autran the construction of a pocket watch manufactory in Pforzheim; in the same year permission for the construction of the first manufactory for jewellery was granted. More than 250 years ago the sovereign thus laid the foundation for Pforzheim’s jewellery and watch industries.
